News Here's what we got up to last season and what we managed to capture on camera.
Island Clean October 2008 Aquanaut Diving along with the town council arranged for a day of cleaning at Catel Island. First we dived 500 meters from the beach and picked up rubbish from the sea bed, then we moved our attention to the Island itself which is a amazing relaxation point for daily holiday makers. You can see the amount of rubbish that was gathered that day behind us in the tractor trailer. We even picked up a fridge that had been dumped from a boat. It is shocking to see the lack of respect that some people have for our beautiful sea.
A very special thanks to all of the Aquanaut staff, friends and of course the town council that took part in the clean up :)
July 14th - Our first real close up of dolphins. Three adult dolphins came to play around the boat as we were cruising along. Sorry it's not the greatest picture but I was too excited and I nearly dropped the new camera in the sea.
Mediterranean Monk Seals make regular appearances to the Boat We were visited 4 times by Seals last season while collecting guests and cruising to our dive sites. The highly protected and endangered species popped up beside the boat to check us out, once with a baby along side. A truly magnificent site to see an endangered species with your own eyes! In the excitement a staff member managed to flick the on switch to the compressor, which unfortunately scared the the beautiful creature to retreat under the waves.
Diving with a Butterfly Sting Ray and Turtle on last day of the season Guests were very lucky to come into contact with 2 rare sightings in 1 day-especially a turtle.
